You can either lay the boards down on a full bed of single part flexible or by using a polyurethane adhesive and screws.
The board doesn’t need priming although you will never lose out by priming the board because it will waterproof it and improve adhesion. Also, most adhesive manufactures recommend priming before tiling so it is best to check with them first.
